September 19, 2017 Arriving in Jacksonville, Floridia

Besides a really long flight, I made it to Florida and it is awesome. Everyone is super nice and loving and welcoming. I already fed some fish, ducks, and a turtle. It is a very, very, humid place. The food we ate was super good and feeling. Grits weren't that bad because they had cheese and bacon in them. My p-day is Monday and I can email and answer to a email once. I get assigned a companion/trainer tomorrow and also assigned a area. Most of the mission has new 2017 Chevy Malibu and Rough one cars. So biking will be necessary if I run out of miles... but probably won't be happening to often. Love you

September 18, 2017 I'm Leaving

The time I've had at the MTC has come to a end! I am so excited to get to Florida and to start helping people come unto the savior and follow his example. This week nothing much happened besides that I had to pack so we can leave!

We had a few very good testimony meetings where the spirit was super strong. Lots of the sisters are very emotionally weak and always are crying. Everyone in my district is awesome and I have grown to love them even though leaving and moving on will be good.

That's about it! I am enjoying my mission so far and know that Florida will be great even though I'm leaving for the airport at 2:30 am. I love all of you and want you to all know that. Remember to read the book of Mormon and pray which will bring you so much closer to Christ.

Something to ponder:
Paul
Acts 9:6
Am I ready to do the Lord's work in the Lord's way?
This is a good scripture to read and ponder the question above. Everyone can be a missionary and should be. Being a missionary even if it's a member missionary, it can bring so many blessings and like it says in the scriptures, we will have great joy.

Love Elder Elgaaen

September 13, 2017 Life at the MTC part 2

This week went by 5 times faster. It was good for the most part accept the fact that I got sick. Hopefully it will pass fast! I've got to go to the temple twice in the last week. I loved it and really felt a strong spirit there. So go to the temple everyone!

Something that is crazy is everyone in our zone left accept for my district and one other new district so there is around 15 guys on our floor and 8 empty rooms. They left us a bunch of treats so we probably if we wanted to eat junk could live off what we have for the remaining week. But at least it gets quiet at night!

Something cool I learned during the talk on TEACHING about Christ was this... Fish doesn't appreciate the water until they are taken out... some of us don't appreciate being a child of God. Is being a child of God breath of your life?

I love the gospel and love hearing from everyone! Miss and love you all. Have a great week! Remember to follow the example of Jesus Christ!

Song: I lived in heaven
1.I lived in heaven a long time ago, it is true;
Lived there and loved there with people I know. So did you.
Then Heav’nly Father presented a beautiful plan,
All about earth and eternal salvation for man.
2.Father said he needed someone who had enough love
To give his life so we all could return there above.
There was another who sought for the honor divine.
Jesus said, “Father, send me, and the glory be thine.”
3.Jesus was chosen, and as the Messiah he came,
Conquering evil and death through his glorious name,
Giving us hope of a wonderful life yet to be
Home in that heaven where Father is waiting for me

Sept. 5, 2017: The Mish!

Family and friends, the MTG has been great! I am loving the amount of learning and knowledge I've gained here! So I guess it's a thing at the MTC to be spooned which is putting spoons in the 'new people's rooms when they leave their door open the first night during zone meeting. We got it quite bad and found over 50 spoons in about everything in our room!
We got spooned!
My companion is from Holden, Utah and we get along quite well! He loves soccer but we haven't played it yet. I enjoy playing basketball and some of the food is better than others.
Me and Elder Jose
Something that has been hugely pointed out to the missionaries is that we are representatives of Jesus Christ and need to follow his example. I have found as I am obedient and follow the rules I see miracles in my MTC experience. My testimony has grown greatly as I've pondered and read my scriptures and have prayed to know the scriptures are true.

My investigator in the gospel is named Pooreum Oh and he is from Korea. He is here for school and because it's less costly than living in California. He knows most of the gospel doctrine because of his LDS friends, but struggles knowing that we need prophets when we all can personally  receive revelation.

I love you all and wanted to let you know I'm safe and still alive!
