This week was a good one. It went super fast but it was full of fun and success. I went on a trade off with the district leader and it was so full of miracles. We were able to find 4 awesome investigators in less than 24 hours. It was such a party. We found one lady named Krishna. She was super, super promising and really ready. At first contact, she said she wasn't interested but inspired questions lead to a good conversations with lots of questions and interest on her part. It was amazing.
This week I wanted to share a short testimony on how god knows you. There is a short story that goes along with it.
A golfer, now into his golden years, had a lifelong ambition to play the 17th hole at TPC Saw grass in Ponte Verde, Florida, exactly the way the pros do it.
The pros drive the ball out over the water onto the small green that is on a small spit of land. It was something the golfer had tried hundreds of times without success. His ball had always fallen short, into the water.
Because of this, he never used a new ball on this particular hole. He always picked out one that had a cut or a nick, as did many other "average" golfers when negotiating very challenging holes.
Recently he went to Saw grass to try again.
When he came to the fateful hole, he teed up an old, cut ball as usual, and said a silent prayer. However, before he could hit the ball, a powerful voice from above seemed to be booming out from the clouds, saying, "Wait! Replace that old ball with a brand new one, a Titleist ProV1 if you have it."
The golfer complied, with some slight misgivings, despite the fact that this same force seemed to be implying that he was going to finally achieve his lifelong ambition.
As he stepped up to the tee once more, the voice came down again, "Wait Step back. Take a practice swing."
So he stepped back and took a practice swing, certain now that this heavenly force was going to make his dream come true.
The voice boomed out again, "Take another practice swing."
Dutifully, he did. He stopped expectantly and waited; a long silence followed.
Then, the voice again, "Use the old ball."
Although funny, There is a deeper message to the story. Everything God does is for our good. Sometimes, we think that as we do something, we are doing it for a certain purpose. Sometimes God has bigger plans for us. Sometimes we need more practice. Sometimes, we get impressions that may just be for our own good even if we don't see the reason. I love the Holy Ghost and the comfort, peace, and direction it brings into each of our lives. Sometimes we need to trust in the Lord and give our all even if we don't see the point. God knows us perfectly and knows when we are prepared and when we need a little more practice. I love this gospel and hope you all can find a little time this week to think about what God wants you to become, think of the potential you have, and think of what you are doing each day to become a little more like Christ.
I am so grateful for my Mom! I love her as well as all the other mothers that have played a part in my life. You made me who I am and are such an example of Love and peace and kindness to all those around you! I love you all! I pray that you all can feel that love through others every day. Thank you for your Christ like examples and all you do for me. I love you all so much and hope your week is great!
